3. Are their any benefits to landscaping your property?
The first and foremost benefit of landscaping your property is having your own space where you can be surrounded by natural elements. If you have your own backyard getaway where you can unwind, right here in the city, you probably won’t feel the need to travel abroad or go to the cottage as often. So having a proximal paradise is a good environmental choice.
Landscaping can also increase the practical usability of your property. A carefully planned and landscaped yard can double or triple the square footage of living space by creating outdoor “rooms”. With different areas for cooking, dining, recreation, and relaxation, you have more living options than if you relied solely on the inside of your house.
Properly placed trees can shade your house, keeping it cool in June and July but allow the warm rays of the sun to shine through when you want them in the winter. This will save you money on heating and cooling costs and give you a respite from the hot summer sun. And of course, trees are marvelous to look at, as well.
The fact that it increases the value of your property by ten per cent or more means that landscaping is also a financial investment in your home. Even if you eventually sell the house, you can easily recover the cost of the landscaping, and in the meantime you can enjoy it to the maximum.
