HAVE YOU EVER TAKEN a long hard look at the uniform sea of green that is a North American residential neighbourhood when viewed from above… and wondered why? I mean, how did grass lawns come to dominate suburban landscapes across the continent? We conducted our own investigation into this phenomenon, and what we found has convinced us to add clover to the list of possibilities for ground cover that we install on site. Far from a noxious weed, it turns out that this incredible plant, much maligned, has lots of advantages over conventional grasses. But there’s no need to choose either one or the other; it might be that the most appropriate solution for your lawn is a blend of the two.
