Junction Front Yard Parking Pad

The lengths to which individuals will go to incorporate a parking pad in Toronto can be quite extensive, and this particular case was no exception. To accommodate a parking pad in the front yard of this older Victorian-style home, it was necessary to remove the traditional front porch and the classic hedge that encircled it.

The redesigned landscape features a parking pad with a classic black cobblestone appearance, as requested by the client, complemented by a modern, smooth, contrasting interlocking brick paver for the front walkway, laid out in a random design.

This path connects seamlessly with the natural stone slab steps that lead to the new porch entrance of the home.

A horizontal cedar board screen was installed to obscure the view of the neighboring garbage and recycling bins, a detail evident in one of the photos. This screen not only serves a practical purpose but also enhances the architectural aesthetics of the space.

The garden's design reintroduces elements of formal landscaping with the planting of Yews close to the house's foundation and boxwoods around the main garden area, offering structure and a refined look. Dwarf Lilacs and Bloody Cranesbill are incorporated for their seasonal hues, contrasting beautifully against the darker green foliage.

This transformation has resulted in a front yard that is not only more functional but has significantly increased the home's value and curb appeal.
